1. About these terms
These terms apply to the Learners Test Canada app and this website, published by blue0orbit (“we”, “us”). By using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
2. An independent study app
Learners Test Canada is an independent study app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Government of Canada or any provincial or territorial government or licensing authority. The knowledge test is set and run by your province or territory.
3. No guarantee; practice results are not official
The app helps you study. Using it, scoring well in practice or passing a practice test does not guarantee that you will pass an official test. Practice results are not official results, and they can't be used as proof of anything with a licensing authority.
4. Content can contain errors
Questions are written from each jurisdiction's official driver's handbook, but rules change and mistakes can happen. Some test formats are not published and are shown as “to be confirmed”. Always check your official handbook and your licensing authority's website. If you think something is wrong, please tell us at blue0orbit@gmail.com.
5. Accounts
An account is optional. If you create one, keep your password safe, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. To create an account you must be at least 14, or have a parent's or guardian's consent. You can delete your account at any time.
6. Free use, ads, purchases and refunds
Practice questions and short quizzes are free and unlimited. Free use also includes one full practice test a day, shared across all provinces and territories; it resets at midnight, local time. Watching an optional rewarded video unlocks one more full practice test that day. Ads appear only for free users: a small banner on practice and exam result screens, and rewarded videos only when you choose them. They are served by Unity Ads, or by Google AdMob when Unity has no ad, as described in the privacy policy.
Lifetime access is a one-time CA$5.99 purchase through Google Play, not a subscription. It gives unlimited full practice tests and removes all ads. Payment, refunds and cancellations are handled by Google Play under its policies; we never see your payment details. Lifetime access belongs to the Google Play account that bought it, and you can buy it without an app account. Deleting your app account doesn't refund a purchase. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under consumer protection law.
7. Acceptable use
Use the app for your own study. Please don't:
- copy, sell or redistribute its questions, explanations or artwork;
- try to get into the app's servers or other people's data;
- use bots or scrapers to collect content from the app;
- pretend to be someone else; or
- use the app in a way that breaks the law.
We may suspend an account that seriously breaks these rules.
8. Our content
The questions, explanations, illustrations and software are ours or used with permission. Official handbooks are referred to, not reproduced. The website's fonts are used under the SIL Open Font License.
9. Liability
The app and this website are provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app or the website, such as failing an official test or losing study data. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that the law does not allow us to exclude, or limits your rights as a consumer.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the app changes. We will change the date at the top of this page, and tell you in the app about important changes. If you keep using the app after a change, the new terms apply.
