About the app

What is Learners Test Canada?

An Android study app by blue0orbit for the learner's knowledge test in all 13 Canadian provinces and territories. You pick your province, then practise with 2,709 original questions, explained answers and practice tests in your province's format, in English or French.

Is it a government app?

No. Learners Test Canada is an independent study app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Government of Canada or any provincial or territorial government or licensing authority. The knowledge test is run by your province or territory, so always check its handbook and website.

Are these the questions from the actual test?

No. Every question is written for the app from each jurisdiction's official driver's handbook. The questions teach the rules the test checks; they are not the test, and no official questions are copied.

Which provinces and territories are covered?

All 13, each with its own question bank and practice test. Compare the tests by province.

Is the app in French?

Yes. The app and every question, explanation and source note are in English and French. Québec's questions are written in French first.

Price

Is it free?

Yes, practising is free. Practice questions, explanations, short study quizzes and your reviews are always free and unlimited. You also get one full practice test a day, shared across all provinces and territories; it resets at midnight, your local time. You can watch an optional short video to unlock one more that day.

What does lifetime access cost?

CA$5.99, once, through Google Play, when the app launches there. It unlocks unlimited full province practice tests and detailed progress, and removes all ads. It is not a subscription, and you can buy it without an app account.

Are there ads?

Only in the free version. Free learners see a small banner ad on practice and exam result screens, and a rewarded video only if they choose one to unlock an extra full practice test. The ads come from Unity Ads, or from Google AdMob when Unity has no ad. Where the law requires it, Google's consent message asks for your consent before any ad. Ads are never personalised, and the app never sends your account, questions, answers, scores or province with ad requests. Lifetime access removes all ads.

Can I get a refund?

Purchases are made through Google Play, so refunds follow Google Play's policies.

Account and privacy

Do I need an account?

No. As a guest, everything stays on your phone, and nothing is sent to us. If you want, you can create an account with an email and password or with Google. When you sign in, the progress already on your phone joins your account. From then on, your completed study sessions and saved questions for every province are backed up automatically, once your email address is confirmed. Signing out stops backups.

Where is backed-up progress stored?

In Google Cloud Firestore, in Montréal, protected by security rules that let only you access your records. Backups happen only while you are signed in with a confirmed email address, and unfinished sessions stay on your phone. Details are in the privacy policy.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Profile › Account › Delete account. You can also email blue0orbit@gmail.com. The account deletion page explains what is deleted and what is kept.

Does the app track me?

The app never shows personalised ads, and we never sell your information. “Help improve the app” sends usage statistics and crash reports through Google Firebase, without your account, questions, answers or study records. On the setup screen its box starts ticked, except if you choose Québec or your phone is in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, where it starts unticked. You can untick it there, or change it at any time in Profile › Help improve the app. This website sets no cookies and has no analytics.

Can I export or erase my study data?

Yes. In Profile › Your data on this device, you can export your study data as a JSON file, or erase local progress on your phone. Erasing local progress doesn't delete an online account; for that, see delete your account.

Using the app

When will it be on Google Play?

It is coming soon. It isn't listed yet, so this site has no store link. The “Coming soon” button will become a link when it is.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Questions are built into the app. You need a connection only to sign in, back up your progress, buy or restore lifetime access, or watch a video to unlock an extra practice test.

Is there an iPhone version?

Not at the moment. The app is for Android 8.0 or later.

What does “to be confirmed” mean on a test?

Some provinces don't publish their number of questions or pass mark. For those, the app's practice test uses 20 questions per part at the published pass mark, and labels the figures “to be confirmed” until an official source confirms them.

I found a mistake in a question. What should I do?

Use Report a problem under the explanation in the app, or email blue0orbit@gmail.com with your province, the question and what you think is wrong. We check every report against the handbook.

What are achievements?

Each province and territory has its own set of achievements. Each one is earned by using a real feature of the app, such as practising every topic, turning mistakes into right answers or finishing a full practice test.

How can I recommend the app to a friend?

In Profile, “Share with friends” sends a short message about the app, and “Rate Learners Test Canada” lets you leave a rating on Google Play.

Can the app guarantee I pass?

No, and no app can. Practice results are not official results. The app helps you study and shows where you stand; you decide when you are ready to book.
