What the app does

Learn the rule, not just the letter

Most practice apps tell you which answer was right. Learners Test Canada also tells you why each of the other choices is wrong, so you recognise the same trap on test day.

Your province's test format

Practice tests follow the parts, question counts and pass marks of your province's test, as far as they are published. Anything not confirmed is labelled.

Every wrong answer explained

You see why your choice was wrong first, then why the right answer is right. Each wrong choice has its own reason.

The handbook source

Each answer names the handbook section it comes from, so you can read more in your official handbook.

English and French

All 2,709 questions are in both languages. Québec's are written in French first.

A plan for every day

Reviews of what you missed or guessed come back first, then new questions, in a few minutes a day.

Road signs by family

Regulatory, warning, construction, information and school signs, drawn as original artwork.

Works offline

Questions are built into the app. Study on the bus, in the car or anywhere without a connection.

Account optional

Study as a guest with everything on your phone, or sign in and your progress for every province backs up automatically.

How it works

Your route to test day

  1. Pick your province

All 13 provinces and territories. The app sets up your test's format and its own question bank.

  2. Learn a little every day

Short quizzes by topic and by sign family. Tell the app how sure you were, and it plans your reviews.

  3. Fix every mistake

Wrong answers come back in your plan, with the reason each wrong choice is wrong.

  4. Take the practice test

Your province's format, part by part. Book the real test when you pass it again and again.

How the questions are made

Written from each official handbook

Every question is original, written in our own words from the driver's handbook of the province or territory it belongs to. Each answer carries its explanation, the reason each wrong choice is wrong, and the handbook source.

  • No official test questions, handbook text or images are copied.
  • Road signs are redrawn as original artwork.
  • Rules change. If something looks wrong, tell us and we check it against the handbook.
